2017 Links & Legends Golf Tournament
STEP Position: Golf Tournament Assistant, 30hrs/week for student returning to school in the Fall of 2017
Duration of Employment: 12 weeks
Start Date: June 8, 2017
Finish date: August 31, 2017
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Tracking of sponsors, auction items, Legends, golfers, and budget for the 2017 Links & Legends Golf Tournament and maintain a database
- Work closely with the tournament organizing committees and volunteers
- Ordering of signage, booklets, and other materials for tournament day
- Process volunteer application forms and maintain volunteer database
- Maintain websites and social media, and update as needed
- Prepare correspondence and mailings as requested to effectively communicate with sponsors, Legends, volunteers and players
- Produce and distribute tournament documents such as a volunteer manual, volunteer training documents, golfer information, and tournament masters
- Assist with all aspects of the tournament as required, including inventory, tournament preparations, promotions and execution
- Write and proof-read documents, telephone duties, coordinate meetings, filing, photocopying and ordering of supplies
- Handle incoming Links & Legends Tournament related queries
Required skills:
- Prior event management experience
- Post-secondary education in Sport Management, Event Management, or Sport Administration, Communications, or Marketing
- A motivated and enthusiastic individual who is able to work independently and as part of a group
- Rigorous attention to detail and deadlines
- Strong communications skills, both oral and written
