Literacy, Leadership and Heart: Students Exemplify Values Shared by TEPF and Calgary Flames

The Educational Partnership Foundation was proud to partner with the Flames Foundation and Calgary Flames players Zach Whitecloud (no. 28) and Zayne Parekh (no. 19) for a recent Books for Kids and Reading…Give it a Shot! presentation at Holy Trinity School. During the visit, students heard messages about perseverance, teamwork and kindness.

After the event, two brothers demonstrated kindness and community care in a remarkable way. When they heard that a teacher was hoping to bring an autograph to a young Flames fan undergoing leukemia treatment, one of them offered his own signed hockey card, which the other brought to school to pass along. Their compassion and generosity deeply moved everyone involved.

To acknowledge this extraordinary act, Zach and Zayne sent the boys autographed mini sticks, which TEPF’s Literacy Programs Enhancement Coordinator Pina Lamb was delighted to deliver to the boys at school.

We’re proud to support programs that nurture not only learning, but character. Nicely Literadone, Mathias and Mibhar!
